How to safely search for real estate
Be careful when dealing with ads in the real estate category. If you see any ads, that are misleading users, please immediately notify us by using the "Report" button on the ad screen.
Agencies
If you are dealing with a real estate agency, make sure that the agency does indeed represent and has a contract with the seller. Very often dishonest agencies simply reprint other ads in order to attract clients.
Also, dishonest agencies can create dummy non-existent real estate ads, or use false information in them. In reality, they offer you to pay them for a listing of nonexistent addresses or require you to sign a contract before they share any more information with you.
Do not trust real estate ads with the following:
- No photos are provided, photos look fake or photos do not represent the actual property;
- The ad contains very limited information about the property, a lot of important details are missing in the description;
- An agency or a broker claims to be the owner to deceive potential clients. Possibly they will offer you to visit their office, sign a contract, pay a registration fee and only then show you a property;
- Indicated price of the property is suspiciously low (for example a 3 bedroom apartment for a price of a 1 bedroom apartment);
- The ad states that the owner is leaving on a business trip or will be traveling abroad;
- A second room is locked or used as a storage and will not be rented out, you only need to take care of the apartment;
