How to safely look for a job

Unfortunately, employment, like many other areas of our lives, is not without occasional fraud. Applicants are often faced with dubious offers and promises that end up costing them money, but do not result in a new job.
Please note that we do not allow any ads or job offers for any questionable activities, including making money online or working from home.
Do not trust agencies or employers who ask for upfront payment!
Serious employers always indicate the position, brief information about their company, the name of their company and detailed requirements for the position. It is also expected to find salary, working hours, terms of the employment, physical address and other information in the ad.
Uncertainty and vagueness of a job ad is a reason to be very careful. Do not trust ads if no exact job title is specified (e.g., "need staff for the office", "work for the active and outgoing") and the are no specific requirements for the job ("for seniors", "ambitious women", "persistent and sociable"). Do not trust ads with no clear information about the job responsibilities, ads that promise easy money and sound too good to be true.
Be careful and never respond to questionable and poorly written job ads.
Do not trust agencies or employers who ask for upfront payment!
Ads from employment agencies that require applicants to pay an upfront fee (usually about 3,000 AMD) are prohibited on List.am.
If, in response to an ad for a job, you are asked for an advance payment or registration fees for the promise of providing work, it means that you are dealing with scammers. Please immediately let us know!
Never pay money for a jobs database!
There have been ads posted recently from scammers that are disguised as agencies or direct employers, but in reality offer to pay for a list of vacancies. Never pay money for such services - this is fraud and a way to take your money. If you experience anything like that, please let us know.
Paid phone numbers
Fraudsters place attractive job offers providing a paid phone number or a regular phone number with voice mail, asking you to call a toll number. Be careful! Never call such numbers or you will simply lose money and gain nothing in return.
Internet marketing
Our Posting Rules do not allow any ads containing multi-level marketing, working online, working from home and other fraud schemes. Be careful and never respond to such ads.
